Yesterday I came across a article very interesting and extensive on Portales real estate, a sector resists crisis, people of BaquĆa .
Here I make a summary of the issues that struck me:
- 3 out of 4 buyers of floor used exclusively ex Internet.
- Define the user profile of these sites as a: advanced Internet users with some experience in handling applications, and residents in towns over 25,000 inhabitants and urban environments. 60% female, compared with 40% men, mean age of users is between 25 and 50 years, most educated has a medium-high and are English.
- During the month of January, real estate portals received a total of 3.47 million unique users , and served over 256 million pages , which represents 18.7% of total Internet audience.
- Compared with the monthly average during the past 2007, we note that Idealista.com Enalquiler.com and are the two fastest growing web visits.
- Only 14% of housing supply is for rental apartments. The remaining 86% concerns real estate, consistent with a market like English, where rents barely 10% of the total estate.
- All gates of the study have a clear positioning strategies. Google Adwors , Google Adsense, SEO and SEM, partnerships with other websites, online campaigns and participation in the Madrid Real Estate Exhibition.
Reflections: - article data need to be taken as reference for the sector trend, but little else! . The inclusion of one of the leading portals Fotocasa.es in most of them no final conclusions can be drawn.
- own experience, I've carried enough Zado user testing for this type of portals I compiled the user profile defined in this study . I would define it as a user with knowledge of Internet LOW , sailing about 3 times a week, the level of education in low-average estimate by 60% and upper-middle 40% or so.
- is a mature sector positioning strategies, you can try yourself, keywords like "apartment rental" or "Shop floor" and you will see fierce struggles with the different portals. I think other sectors such as tourism still have much to learn from this.
Is it in crisis as everyone says?
